Allison Cassens was 32 years old at the time of her diagnosis of colon cancer. She lived another 16 months before she lost her battle to cancer. Allison was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, an exceptional teacher, a mentor, a pilot, as well as an inspiration to all of us who knew her.

Her strong faith in God, her love of life and that ever-present, angelic smile had a profound impact on each and everyone she met. In Allison's will, she stated that she wanted everyone to "utilize their talents in order to benefit the advancement of medicine and to help those participating in research to find a cure for cancer." To honor Allison's wishes, her close friends have established a foundation, Allison's Friends of Hope.This foundation is a non-profit organization based on the premise of friendship, love and support for those facing the challenges of cancer.
